Herkese selamlar,

Anlatım esnasında sürç-i lisan ettiysek affola. Videolar tabi ki "saygı" çerçevesinde yoruma açıktır.

car wasnt snow foamed as i didnt have a jet wash at the time
The car was washed three times!!!! that amount of dirt on there i couldnt belive it. it was washed with the standard 2BM with meguiars gold class with a small shot of G101 to help shift the dirt.

car washed and looked no different really as the paint was in such bad condition.

here is a picture of a possible strike through from some time ago? not sure how or what happened. all i know it was there before i started.

so back to the car... time for claying. i used meguiars clay kit and i must say i dont think it had ever been clayed.... EVER.

half a bonnet and look..

The rest of the car was more of less the same.

pics of the car after clayed ready for machining.

Next was the compounding. the products i will be using is Meguiars Ultimate Compound, Ultimate polish and Liquid wax.
i did a test spot by hand to see how the paint would react with my handy work and Here is what happened.

Before:

Half and Half.

and the reflection achivied with five minutes hand work.
.

right hand rear wing before and after.

.

Rear tail light before and after. please not i didnt have the after shot for the left but ive got one for the right so you can imagine what it looked like.

Before

After

here is what the wheels looked like after cleaning with Autoglym wheel cleaner and G101.

now for the me bonnet. a good 50:50

These LED bars may seem excessive, but it's practically mandatory up there when you get off the main roads.
DSC_5648 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

I played around with them while I had the truck, and I accidentally vaporize a small child. They are CRAZY bright.
DSC_5650 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

The drive has taken it's toll on the front. This truck only has around 8,000kms on it.
DSC_5652 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

The chrome rims were showing some early signs of staining. Wheel acid takes care of this very easily.
DSC_5654 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Arches were obviously full of mud, but the heavy rain and snow during the drive removed all but a thin layer giving a nice brown colour to match the car. APC and Foam was used with a large fender brush to clean this.
DSC_5655 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Naturally, the badge.
DSC_5657 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Looks way worse then it is. Most rinsed off, rest came with light agitation and apc.
DSC_5659 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Again, loose and not caked on dirt from driving.
DSC_5660 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Exhaust tips were sealed when I did the truck the last time. APC brought them back to clean, and mother metal polish brought them back to new.
DSC_5661 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Oh yeah, there is 2 of them. This truck has the TRD exhaust system.
DSC_5662 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Best feature ever on a truck of this size.
DSC_5663 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Staining on the inner spoke.
DSC_5664 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Lots of dirt built up in the valve stem opening.
DSC_5665 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

When you live up north, you expect to get muddy. No exceptions here. Luckily he installed aftermarket floor liners which saved all the carpet from expoosure.
DSC_5666 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5669 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

One of the prominent features in this car is brown leather. They must have got a smoking deal on it at costco cause it's everywhere. AG leather twins used on the seats, while the door, dash, and console leather peices were cleaned with APC and treated with Poorboys Natural Look Dressing.
DSC_5670 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5673 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Top model gets the top mill. 5.7 Liter 388hp V8.
DSC_5676 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Engine bay was dirty but it wasn't stubborn to remove.
DSC_5677 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5678 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5679 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5680 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Lets start cleaning. Engine bay was rinsed, then covered with APC before foam was applied. Agitation provided by a Raceglaze detailing brush and my arm.
DSC_5686 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Wheel wells saw the same treatment as above, but with a Griots Garage fender brush.
DSC_5687 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

APC applied to lowers then foamed with a mixture of Chemical Guys Maxi Suds 2 and Detailers Pride Extreme Foam Formula (strong mix).
DSC_5690 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

I didn't take a clean picture of the mats until I put them back in. Either way they came up clean. APC was used to clean.
DSC_5692 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Although the truck is dirty, it's only 8,000kms old. This is the clay after doing the whole vehicle.
DSC_5695 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Paint condition is about what you would expect. Marring and fairly light stuff. However correction was not in the cards for this one so I was given a hit with Meguiars Cleaner Wax via Port Cable 7424 using White Buff and Shine Euro Foam pads. This combo cleaned the paint nicely and filled in some of the light swirling helping with gloss. Maybe in the future we'll cut this thing down to size (owner doesn't want to).
DSC_5699 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5703 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Tail lights were VERY bad, so I decided to try my sample of Auto Finesse Tripple. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
DSC_5711 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5713 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Not bad for one hit.

Meguiars M6 being worked in to the DS door. This was an absolute pleasure to use. Excellent bottle and dispenser (I'm looking at you Autoglym) and very long working times.
DSC_5737 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

One of the leather rims vents getting it's deep clean.
DSC_5739 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

And welcome to the afters. As states, AG leather cleaner and conditioner used for the seats. Poorboys NLD used for everything else.
DSC_5742 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5744 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

DSC_5749 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Sonax BSD used on the painted areas, rest just wiped off.
DSC_5755 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Headlights were hand polished with Tripple, then waxed with BH Finis along with the rest of the car.
DSC_5780 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

That looks a bit better.

DSC_5788 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

First time I dressed fender liners, but it definitely was needed on this truck.
DSC_5792 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Wheels were cleaned with Acid wheel cleaner and APC, then sealed with FK1000P.
DSC_5793 by brianjosephson1, on Flickr

Paint was waxed twice with BH Finis Wax.

I gave the Prado a wash with ArmorAll Heavy Duty wash in both the bucket and foam lance. Cleaned a fair bit of the red staining out of the paint, but still in bad shape. After my friend had left, I realized that I didn't have the key for the spare wheel. Oh well, got to move on with out it.

Day two. The Prado was pulled inside to start the polishing. A quick check around the car with the PDG showed no surprises, with the paint showing in the 110-120um range. A 50/50 was done to see what was going to work on the paint, and to show my friend what to expect! My friend popped over to give me the spare wheel key at this stage, perfect timing! He was in shock at what the difference was! He'd only owned the car with it oxidized white! tongue.gif[/img]

OK, here's the plan of attack!

After initial testing, the plan was to start with a rough cut with the Rupes green pad and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound to remove the oxidization. The open cell green pad allowed for the loads of oxidized paint to enter the pad without clogging up the polishing surface. The Rupes yellow pad just clogged very quickly in comparison for this oxidation removal step.

Second step is a compounding with the Rupes yellow pad and Meguiar's Ultimate Compound to really clean up the paint. Not looking to remove bulk paint, all rids etc, so this is why foam pads was chosen over microfiber pads for this step. I have got to make sure I do cut hard enough to remove all traces of oxidation though!

Third step was a polish with the Rupes white pad and Meguiars M205 to get a bit more out of the finish.

Not forgetting cleaning up the tight spots with the rotary!

The Polishing going really well, looking really good and getting some nice improvement!

Now for the other side of the car

Spare wheel carrier. As mentioned before, I would have taken this off the car before I washed it at the start, but my friend forgot to give me the extra key.

Spare wheel removed

Plastic backing removed

Carrier removed

Washed

Polished

Here's how the mirrors cleaned up!

Door trim 50/50!

At the end of day two, the Prado was pulled outside for a check and a decon wash to remove all the polishing dust and residue. Still more polishing work to go, but I can only wash in the early morning or late afternoon where I am. It's too hot otherwise. The tyres got a more serious scrub with degreaser this wash too.

Day three. With the bulk of the polishing done, it was just clean up the little bits and pieces, then NitroSeal LSP application.

The headlights actually weren't too bad. They cleaned up nicely with the Rockwell DA, white Lake Country CCS pad and HD Cut.

Behind the door handles cleaned up with a foam applicator and HD Cut.

Rear lights cleaned up with the Rockwell DA, white Lake Country CCS pad and HD Cut.

The spare wheel cover was polished with the Rockwell DA, white Lake Country CCS pad and Meguiars Ultimate Compound. The tight bits got cleaned with a foam applicator and Meguiars Ultimate Compound. I used a paintbrush handle instead of my fingers, made the job a lot easier!

Interior. On dirty cars like this, I wash the doors, plastics, and jambs with car wash in a bucket with my trusty noodle mitt. The plastics etc got a final wipe over with Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer.

Time for a final wipe down and paint check with CarPro Eraser.

NitroSeal time! Temps and humidity were pretty good for a change! Getting better and better as we edge closer to winter here! tongue.gif[/img]

The Part A and B were applied with the Rockwell DA and Lake country black CCS pads. Always quick and easy to use, zero fuss, lovely stuff to work with!

All wiped down looking glorious! Very happy with the gloss levels out of this one in the end! smile.gif[/img]

Outside in the sun doesn't show much apart from bright white paint lol! Still much better than when it arrived! tongue.gif[/img]
